The English word Angel comes from the Greek “angelos” or messenger. Man has envisioned angels in different forms through the centuries. In many of the pictures and statues the angels contain wings to allow them to fly between heaven and earth to act as God’s messengers. Other descriptions of angels depict them as having a human form but without wings. While the modern person’s perception of an angel normally does not include wings, the wings definitely add to the imagery in the photographs.
The photos are arranged into three galleries. The first gallery includes both angel and cherub images that have been hand-tinted using Photoshop. The second gallery consists of sepia toned images of angels and cherubs. The third gallery contains colored images of angels. The images shown in the galleries contain watermarks and are low-resolution. Images on ordered prints will be from high-resolution scans and will not contain watermarks.
